This past Saturday the New Orleans Museum of Art exhibit Katrina Exposed opened.

Congratulations to all our kids, who now have a photograph hanging on a museum wall.

There was quite a large turnout for the reception and the images displayed fostered contemplation and conversations about the floods and the weeks that followed.

On Sunday we had our own little reception for all the kids and their friends and families in City Park, outside the museum, and then we went in and viewed the show as a group.

A big thank you to Kristina Bradford, the Marketing Director at Whole Foods, for donating drinks and and an assortment of yummy snacks!

The show will be up until the end of August, and is free for Louisiana Residents.

There are currently 17 students in the program from the 6th, 7th, 9th and 12th Wards and St. Bernard Parish who have been photographing their lives and experiences.

One photograph from each of these students has recently been accepted for the upcoming exhibition, Katrina Exposed, at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
